Google Docs has always been the best way to brainstorm and edit documents with your friends, however it always required a constant network connection. Today, Clay Bavar, Director of Product Management for Google Apps, announced that Google Docs will have the ability to edit documents offline. The feature will be available later today, and will definitely be an advantage for Google Drive.
Say you’re currently working on a document offline-when you receive network connection, Google Drive will automatically sync up your edited work with the cloud. Obviously, you won’t be able to collaborate with your peers when you’re in offline mode, but they’ll be instantly able to see your edits as soon as you receive network connection.
Google has also announced that Drive is now serving 10 million people around the world, and the number is growing rapidly. With this said, Google has announced that their Google Drive app will also be available to iOS devices later today, for both iPhone and iPad, running iOS 4.3 or later. This will definitely populate Google Drive even further, knowing that iOS has a pretty large user base.
