With the announcement yesterday of the Nexus One, Google also showed off some new apps for Android. Google Earth for Android was one of them.
The app gives you a similar experience like you are used to on your desktop PC. For instance you can ‘fly’ to destinations or you can use the integrated voice search. Too bad there isn’t a video available yet that shows Google Earth in action (I couldn’t find one at least). It was shown yesterday during the Google Android Press Event Livestream and it worked really smoothly. Question is if it will work as smoothly on older Android phones that only have half the processing power of the Nexus One (1Ghz).
Google Earth has been available for the iPhone for a while now but was remarkably absent from the Android Market. That should change in the next few days/weeks.
