The Google+ event just came to a close, and a lot of awesome features are coming out of the Google empire. The huge news that we are waiting for, is the Google Hangouts update that will finally see SMS integration. It has been a long time coming, but Vic Gundotra talked about the new update, and we are hoping we see an apk out there today.
Other features will also be added to the Hangouts update, such as location sharing and animated GIFs. Whenever you are in a conversation with a friend and need to give them your location, you can achieve that all by one click of your thumb. Animated GIFs will be a nice eye-pleaser, and Vic even talked about HD video chatting in fullscreen mode coming to all devices.
Auto Awesome for video will also be making its way to our world, that will add filters to make your Hangout experience much better. You will be able to do such things as, blur your background, brighten up your video quality, or even add a spotlight to your video.
Overall it was a pretty good keynote, and we are excited for these new features we will be getting. Vic also mentioned that Google+ has 300 million active users a month, so brace yourself Zuckerberg….us Plussers are catching up. Make sure you keep checking back with us.
