AndroidStory is in the process of figuring out what people really want, like and need in their life when it comes to getting the most out of their device and service. Sometimes we may not post something that is directly connected to Android, but in some fashion will make your life easier. I was recently irritated with Google Music Beta because I didn’t have a PC app that would connect to my cloud and let me listen to my music. As far as I know there still isn’t one. If I am wrong, please someone let me know.
I did however find another helpful solution in the web apps section of Google Chrome. (I constantly forget about that handy little resource.) It is called Better Music Beta for Google Music by level2studios.com. They have created a simple little extension that positions its self in the top right of your browser. It provides you with basic music controls for your Google music account and connection to Last.fm. For more flexibility, you can even activate a mini player if you would like. Check it out.
Features - Scrobbling of songs (option to turn on or off) - Ability to "love" the song on Last.FM - Google thumbs up/down - Desktop notifications (toasts) of song changes (option to turn off) - Playback controls (Play/Pause, Skip, Reverse, Shuffle, and Repeat) in a button on the browser bar - Persistent "miniplayer" in options panel (notifications still happen unless toggled off) - Playlist switching (autoplay on switch) in minplayer and popup (browser button) windows
It is a nice little addition to an already great service. If you want to check it out and install this useful freebie, then direct your your Chrome Browser to Better Music Beta.
