The Google Nexus Smartwatch might be a little closer to being released than we originally thought. According the the Wall Street Journal, Google is in he late stages of development of the smartwatch, and could be released as soon as this year. The challenge with the new watch is to have full access to your Google Now, as well as the smartwatch limitations when it comes to having to sync it with your phone. Google also wants to make sure the battery life is top notch, so it will limit the need to plugging it in at night. They are also in talks with Asian suppliers to begin mass production of the watch, so they definitely are getting close to a release. Getting the watch out before Christmas might be something Google is trying to do, but I would not be surprised if they held out until next year. Let us know if you get the smartwatch.
