Google opens up private channel Play Store for internal business app Distribution

We all know what the Google Play Store is. It is where we go to find all the latest and great apps, games and tools published for consumption by a wide variety of developers. There is another Play Store that most of you will never see or use though. The Google Play Private Channel. The new Private Channel Play Store will company’s a new way to distribute their internal applications for employees without having to use a dropbox account, Google Drive, multiple emails or any number of other methods to install a 3rd party APK. It will also help employees keep up to date with the latest release version of an internal app without having to remember to do so on their own.

Your company will need to set up a Google Play Developers account in order to upload the apps for consumption  Once that is done, your employees just sign in with their company email, Google Apps customers of course, and then can browse the private channel app store.

I can see how this will help keep those random company apps that need login and things off the main Play Store as well as keep security in tact with out the need to install by side loading the app. As mentioned before, a simple way to keep employees, students and others up to date on the latest update and newest apps as well.

If you are a Google Apps for Business, Education or Government customer you can learn all that you need to know about setting up your own Google Play Private Channel at their Help Center.
