We’ve all seen the many expressions that Google displays on their homepage of their search engine, ranging from holidays, to important birthdays. Take today’s for instance, if you go to Google right now you will see the image above as a representation of Harry Houdini’s 137th birthday. While these are all neat one would figure other people would want to use something of the sort on there sites.
Thanks to the patent granted to Google today, other sites will just have to do without. Digital Trends says Google holds the patent for interactive animations and graphics meaning competitors like Yahoo and Bing will not be able to feature these sorts of insignias on their sites.
Who would have thought you could actually patent doodles. I guess we chalk up another one for Google, who just graciously gave a big finger to any other site that seeks to feature items of this sort on their page.
