Over the years Google has been slowly working to unify the Android user experience. Whether it be pulling out system apps and putting them to the play store so they can better keep them updated or integrating current apps with one another to make life easier. One the more recent additions from the land of Google is a new “Purchases” section on the YouTube app. The update is not app related, but rather on a push from Google’s end that makes the new menu item available. The Purchases section brings up a running list of the content you have purchased through the Play Store, just like in the Google Play Movies & TV app, minus the pretty layout.
It is nice to see integration through YouTube for your Movie & TV purchases. I don’t think Google is pushing towards removing the Play Movies & TV app though, but more so another visual reminder that you bought things and you should watch them. I need that visual reminder, I forget about the movies and TV shows I own from the Play Store because I rarely ever think to open the app.
