Google Play Store Gift Cards May Be Coming Soon To Australia, Canada And Japan, Job Available

Google Play Store Gift CardsIt’s not quite the official word from Google, but it may as well be: according to a job advertisement from Google, they are looking for a Retail Partner Manager “to lead the marketing and distribution efforts of its gift card business in Australia and Canada“. So if you have a BA/MBA or 4 years of relevant experience and you love Google, you better jump on that. There’s also a role available in Tokyo for a Strategic Partnership Development Manager, which also involves Gift Cards, so it definitely looks like Google Play Store Gift Cards are definitely going to start spreading around the world.

This is definitely a good thing, not just because I live in Australia, but because the ability to gift currency is probably the one thing that’s really holding the Google Play Store back globally. Well, that and a lack of app security and DRM. Either way, hopefully we’ll see these gift cards sooner rather than later.

Anybody thinking of going for the job? Let us know if you do.
