Looks like Google is on a rampage today with a slew of new app updates. Some of which are getting just minor tweaks and improvements, while others are getting complete material design make overs. It is quite nice to see make of the main apps get converted. One of the apps to get a complete UI make over is Google Wallet. The app has jumped substantially from v2.0 to v7.0 and boy does it look nice.
The introduction walk through when you first open the app is certainly nice, except for the first one with the yellow and white lettering. Once in the app though, you will see a whole new Wallet.
Some of the new things in the app, beyond the redesign, is the ability to lock or cancel your physical Wallet card. Everyone hates to have to cancel a lost card, with the lock function you can make it not work and then be able to restore its abilities later, rather than having to get a whole new card. You will also notice a Low Balance alert option as well. There is also an option to set up automatic deposits to your wallet account from your bank on a set schedule. Sat for instance, every pay-day you rat hole $50. Just a thought.
The app is updating in the Play Store right now in Google’s usual roll out process. You can wait for it to land or you can head to Gappsearly for the file now.
