Laptop Magazine have waded through the latest Android 2.1 update for the DROID and written a nice summary about how it’s working or not. Over all impressions seems to be pretty good but they are disappointed with the Zoom level of the browser.
Reporting that Pinch and Zoom is now fully working with some caveats about the level of zoom. There is the usual assortment of Android 2.1 gizmos, including; The news and weather widget, live wallpapers, the updated gallery application and it now has the ability to run the latest version of Google Earth.
As previously reported, there have been some complaints on the performance of the DROID once the update has applied. Im not if this has been resolved in any way but we’ll try to find out the latest status.
So if you’ve been hanging out for the latest updates from Verizon and feel like you want to take the plunge, you can get the Motorola DROID for $19.99 from WireFly.
