HOWTO: Make Free WIFI / VOIP calls using your Android device and CM7

I generally do my best to take email tips and gather as much information as possible and write it all up and share. Sometimes though we get tips that are already well written, explain things better than I ever could or that I feel I just shouldn’t alter. That’s pretty much how this one is going to go.

Recently CyanogenMod has updated its OS from new Google code recently released. This code supports the native SIP stack which enables people to make calls through wifi or through their data connections. This method is the best solution because of it’s simplicity and secondly, it has the best call quality of any thing out there. Example: sipdroid, groovIP, SIPsimple, viber, etc. So basically what people can do is make and receive calls through their Wi-Fi or through their 3G/4G data connection. This is a perfect solution for people that have little to no coverage in their homes. I have a very professional video that shows users, even “newbs”, how to get it set up.

Thanks a lot Todd for sending this in. I am certain this will be extremely helpful and useful information for the community.
