Although no date of availability has be released, the phone is still listed on Germany’s Amazon site. With a price of 669 Euros, roughly $900, the HTC Flyer clearly loses the one edge it had. I stated in the quick tablet comparison post I did regarding this device and the other tablets debuting at MWC, that the Flyer’s hardware setup is the same thing you’re getting in the “new” HTC phones. The new tablets emerging from Samsung and LG are more power-packed than the Flyer, and have a lot more to offer than just new advanced UI integrations.
While we have nothing directly from HTC to support the pricing information it’s still not a good sign. I’ll go ahead and jump on the bandwagon by saying I’m highly disappointed with HTC’s new line of devices. I think they missed an opportunity to blow the market away like they’ve always done in the past. We don’t have any hints as to what the new tablets from Samsung and LG will be priced at but I don’t think I’m wrong in saying I’d pay $900+ for one them long before I’d pay that for the Flyer. What are your thoughts?
