Among the upcoming tablets racing ever closer to the hands of the many Android fans, The HTC Flyer stands out. No this is not because of a keyboard, nor a fancy overlay on the Honeycomb operating system, in fact there’s no Honeycomb at all. HTC’s first tablet is the only one of the new tablets that’s not launching with Google’s premiere tablet optimised Android version. HTC has instead opted for a Gingerbread build coupled with a unique tablet version of their infamous Sense UI. Although that may not sound like much more than their offerings on the newest phones awaiting release the FLyer utilizes a new feature allows for stylus like interaction tahnks to HTC Scribe technology.
Although the Flyer is not a Honeycomb totting dual-core monster, HTC Scribe paired with one of the best user interfaces says a lot for functionality. It may seem that’s it’s lacking but it’s offers a few of unique traits not present in competitors. Of course for people that are already fans of the FLyer this means nothing. So for you interested Best Buy now has the HTC Fyer available for pre-order for a price of $499. No cellular radios, just pure WiFi goodness.
