HTC Merge Coming to US Cellular May 31st, $249.99

The first leaks of the HTC Merge showed off its Verizon branding and had us all thinking a Verizon branding would be coming. However it’s been about 7 months and there’s still no mention of this phone visiting “Big Red.” Although Verizon has yet to lay claim to this device other smaller carriers aren’t letting it simply slip by. Alltel has already started carrying this device and recent news suggests US Cellular will be grabbing it too.

A leaked internal document suggests the US Cellular will be launching the HTC Merge May 31st with a price of $249.99 pending a new two-year contract and $100 mail in rebate. For those of you not familiar with this device it’s equipped with an 800MHz processor, 3.8-inch touchscreen display, and slide-out QWERTY keyboard. The Merge is basically a CDMA variant of the Desire Z/G2 as you can see by the renders above. That be said, the price tag far exceeds that of its close relatives meaning it could be a flop, but we’ll let y’all decide that.
