AOKP. The bad boys of AOSP. Some people hate it. Some people love it. There can definitely be a divide when it comes to AOKP and CyanogenMod. What do I think? They both have their features that I like. I do not discriminate between either of them.
AOKP has “unofficially” come to the HTC One S. This ROM was created by $droyd$ and he has done a pretty good job. You get all the features that you look for in Android 4.2, and you get all the features you would expect from AOKP. I love the UI change option where you can turn your phone into a “phablet”, or utilize the tablet mode. The status bar disappears in tablet mode, and if you are running Apex or Nova you can use the swipe gestures and swipe up for your notification bar. Probably my favorite feature of this ROM. Only thing I hated about it was the fact that when you got a notification, it would pop up at the bottom making it annoying when you are  typing a message and you accidentally hitting it. No options to turn that off either. All in all, I felt it was a great 4.2 ROM although the video camera was not working, which always seems to be the case all the time. Regular camera worked well.
Check out my video review below, and if you want to try the ROM out, XDA thread is below for you.
