Okay, this barely qualifies as solid news, so lets call it an indication of non cancellation. I, for one, have been wondering since around the 6th of the month, when it was originally rumored to be released, what exactly happened to the HTC Vigor, AKA HTC Incredible HD, AKA (and more and more officially) HTC Rezound. One minute, it’s the darling of the handset / Andy / electronica blogs, leaking a shot or spec or date at every seeming turn, then the next, it’s like it never even existed. Nary a word or an image for a week!
DroidLife is reporting the appearance of the Rezound (I still prefer “Vigor”) in the Verizon Device Management system, which is a good sign that the device is still in the pipeline. The most current release date being floated around for this one is October 20th, but that’s based on dated Intel.
For anyone looking to obtain THE powerhouse phone of the season, this one should probably be in your top three or so. We’ll keep an eye out, as usual.
By way of reminders, these are the anticipated specs:
– 1.5GHz dual-core processor
– 1GB Memory
– 4.3″ 720p HD display
– 4G LTE radio
– 8MP rear camera
– 2MP FFC
– 802.11 B/G/N
– Gingerbread 2.3.4 at launch
– HTC Sense 3.5
