Yesterday was HTC’s big NYC event where they announced their latest device, the HTC Rhyme. It is a slim and sleek device  with a 3.7″ screen size and a single-core 1 GHz processor. The device is catered more towards the female genre with its colors and available accessories. If you missed the announcement yesterday, feel free to head back and take a quick read. We also included videos of the device provided by HTC.
Some wondered where and when this device would hit the hands of consumers. We have the first official carrier announcement for you this morning. O2 in the UK will be the first carrier to stock this device. The scheduled release date is set for October 17th.
This isn’t a crazy high-end super phone that we are used to setting our sights on. I would imagine the Rhyme should sell well in the UK, especially if you guys are looking to finally have an excuse to get your girlfriend or wife on Android finally. I know it was the first device my wife actually saw that she liked. If it hits the states, maybe I’ll finally be able to get her off her Blackberry.
