While is was assumed that the EVO 3D would be visiting other countries one would have thought it would retain its 3D heritage, however that does not seem to be the case for its appearance in Korea. This new variant in question, code-named the HTC Rider, is making its way to Korea as the HTC EVO 4G+ and although it appears to the same EVO 3D we’ve seen it loses its key feature.
The HTC EVO 4G+ has not been officially announced as of yet but is already making a splash. Like the Sensation this handset features a single 8MP main camera with 1080p video capture rather than the two 5MP cameras found on the U.S. version. Additionally the 4.3-inch 3D display has been replaced with a standard qHD and the 2D/3D toggle switch has been altered to switch between camera and video mode. Other than the loss of 3D the EVO 4G+ will feature a WiMax radio ready for Korea’s WiBro service, 900/2100Mhz bands, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0. All other specs are that of the regular HTC EVO 3D.
Based on the features above, or lack of rather, it appears that Korea will be getting a revamped HTC Sensation rather the HTC EVO 3D we know and love. Either way you slice it, it’s a very capable and heavily equipped device that’s sure to please.
