HTC Speaks Out About the HTC Evo FPS Cap

The HTC Evo is a pretty hot device, right? With its HDMI port and 1 GHz processor what’s not to love? Oh, wait…HTC capped the frames per second (FPS) to a mere 30. An example of what I am talking about can be found HERE as the HTC Evo is put through a series of tests along with the Motorola Droid X and the Google Nexus One.

A representative with HTC stated last night at the HTC event in Chicago, which showcased the HTC Aria, that the HTC Evo is capable of more FPS, but is maintained at 30 FPS in to meet the requirements of the HDMI software inside the device. Thanks to the Android Hacker community over at XDA-Developer Forums, we have seen this device reach 60 FPS while gaming and maintaining the 30 FPS using the HDMI out feature.
