Don’t get excited now it’s not Gingerbread, however it may be necessary for those that use HTC‘s twitter client. Peep has had some issues in the past regarding the OAuth authentication method Twitter introduced last year which rendered the client useless, of course this is no longer an issue as it was fixed by Twitter internally. A new problem has arisen concerning a possible security loop hole in the client which may lead to Twitter passwords being leaked. While we’re not exactly sure if this update is directly aimed at a fix for those issues, the change logs directly refers to the Peep client.
If you own a HTC Tattoo or Hero you will probably receive a notification about an update that’s available. If you don’t receive one you can visit HTC Support to learn about initiating the update yourself.
