When it comes to keeping devices on the down-low, it’s rare that the manufacturer ends up being the one that outs the device on accident. As you can see in the image above, the arrow points to a device listed as the Mecha. Does the HTC Mecha sound familiar? It should, it was one of the codenames sent to our inbox back in August.
Since Engadget’s report of HTC’s little “accident” HTC has since removed the device from the listing. So what does the device look like? Well, before HTC removed the device listed as the Mecha, Engadget was able to scoop up the device pictured below.
What does that device look like, it clearly resembles the HTC Hero from overseas and it features a trackball instead of the optical trackpad we’re seeing on HTC devices today. We’re left with a tease of this device, so hopefully we’ll learn more about this device in the near future courtesy of the blogosphere. What are your thoughts on the device above?
