ICS updates hitting a plethora of Samsung devices in Canada starting today and throughout the Quarter

Looks like our friends in to the North are in for some icy treats that doesn’t involve freezing temperatures. The long-awaited Ice Cream Sandwich Android OS updates for a plethora of Samsung devices will be unleashed in Canada very, very soon. There isn’t currently a list of which device will be able to update today, but they were kind enough to drop a list of devices that are expected to be updated throughout the quarter. The list includes various tablets and handsets across most of Canada’s networks. They are as follows –

GALAXY S II
– GALAXY S II LTE
- GALAXY S II LTE HD
– GALAXY S II X
GALAXY Note
– GALAXY Tab 7.0
- GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus
– GALAXY Tab 8.9
GALAXY Tab 10.1

“the upgrade will be available today on select devices in Canada and will continue rolling out to devices and carriers throughout the quarter.”

“The availability and scheduling of the software upgrade and specific models upgradable to Android 4.0 will vary by market and wireless carriers’ requirements. For carrier specific details, please visit your nearest carrier retailer.”

Samsung seems to have the updates ready for all of these devices, now we just need to keep an eye out for the carriers to release them. As we hear more about which device is getting an update and how to snag it, we will be sure to let you all know. For the rest of us here in the states, looks like we will be sitting on hands a bit longer. No surprise there. Although we have seen hints to an ICS update for the T-Mobile Galaxy S II scheduled for May 15th. Lets see if that happens.
