International Moto Maxx Makes Photo Shoot Appearance

Verizon has had the lock on the DROID name with Motorola since they brought the name back to market with Android. Last week they were the launch partners, and the exclusive carrier, to bring the newest droid, the Droid Turbo, to customers. We knew that a device like that wouldn’t stick to Verizon and not find its way to other carriers and countries. The name would need to be changed as well as the device model number. The name that surfaced a few different times was the Moto Maxx. Now there are images to prove that a GSM variant, at least an international variant, is headed somewhere.

Moto Maxx

Moto EventThe images of the device made their first appearance on Guilherme Henrique’s G+ account and depict the device carrying the Moto Maxx name with Android 4.4.4 and 64GB of internal storage. The protective film covering offers up all the same specs as the Verizon version. The five images he posted shows the front, back and the few things seen above. No where is DROID or Verizon listed, which it shouldn’t be, so that leads me to believe this is a genuine Moto Maxx. Especially since there is a Motorola press event scheduled for November 5th that depicted the edge of a phone that carried the same rear panel and you can see the edge of the second LED flash. You can see the invite image to the right.

There will be a GSM international variant of the Droid Turbo, that is pretty clear. Everyone is still hoping that other carriers here in the US end up selling this version and/or that a Play Store version gets announced at some point as well. It would certainly fill that high-end device with a smaller screen gap that has been argued about since the Nexus 6 was officially announced.

When Motorola makes the officially statements on November 5th we will be sure to relay any information we come across.
