We heard the rumours, but now it’s official: Huawei is going to be announcing something new on September 4th at IFA 2014. As per previous rumours and leaks, the device is expected to bear a “7” in the name, and many media outlets have jumped on the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 name. This name implies that the device will be of the phablet form factor, and that matches the rumours for the device which apparently has a 6-inch display.
The invite refers to the words “Touch” and “Feel”, accompanied by a fingerprint imprint; if the leaked pictures of the device are true, this imagery is surely referring to the fact the Mate 7 will incorporate a fingerprint scanner, like an increasing number of its competitors. We’re expecting the Mate 7 to also have a Huawei Kirin 920 processor, 5MP front camera, and 13MP rear camera. There are expected to be two variants of the device, one with 2GB RAM and Full HD display, and the other with 3GB RAM and a Quad HD display.
That’s what we’re expecting from the Huawei Ascend Mate 7; what do you hope to see from the device? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
