Verizon recently dropped the price of the
Motorola Droid Bionic to only $99 on contract. To do that they pulled the additional 16GB microSD card that originally came with the device out. The Bionic still has 16GB internal before the Android OS and Webtop software, which is enough for most people anyways. When a carrier starts bringing a device price down and pulling parts to help lower the cost, one can only wonder what the true story is. Motorola did announce that the Bionic will be getting Ice Cream Sandwich in Q3 of this year, so that is a perk, but is the Bionic already on its way out? Seems to me that we might see this device, that has already had more struggles than any other device to date, get pulled in coming months.
What’s your guys take on it. Is the lower price and memory card removal a sad attempt to push sales of a device that isn’t doing well? Could the Bionic already be headed to end of life after months of waiting, HUGE software updates to fix things and much better devices already beating it out? Let us know int he comments below.
