Just waiting on Google; Nexus 6 all but confirmed at 5.9-inch QHD display

Seems the good ol’ people at Android Police are up to their usual amount of awesomeness as they have seemingly been confirmed a few things about the upcoming Nexus 6. Obviously the name being the Nexus 6 is the first and foremost point. That clears out Nexus X as a contender. It has also been apparently confirmed that the Nexus 6 will indeed be sporting a 5.9″ QHD display which makes for 496ppi.

To butter everyone up a little bit more, they have found out that the Nexus 6 will offer up dual front facing speakers, all blacked out so they aren’t an eye sore. As for cameras the device will sport a 2MP front shooter with a 13MP rear camera with the dual LED flashes placed on either side in the ring. It will be based off the new Moto X, so you can expect a larger variant with the same aluminum frame. The power and volume rocker buttons will be a bit lower so that you aren’t over extending your thumb to do simple controls.

One confirmation that I am pretty amped up about is that the battery is supposed to be 3,200+ mAh. It should keep you going for a very, very long time. They also state that the device will be compatible with Motorola’s Turbo charging that has a claim of a 15 minute charge giving you an extra 8 hours of battery life.

Another thing you will see are some changes to the icons both on the homescreen and notifications. At least in their interpretation the WiFi and Signal bars are all solid without the breaks in them. Oh, and it is also been confirmed that Android L will in fact be Android 5.0.

Now, is there a smaller version too? It seems unlikely given that it isn’t leaking anywhere. Google could be hiding this one extremely well, or it just isn’t going to happen. That might get under your skin and be a little off-putting since the apparent Nexus 6 jumps about an inch from the Nexus 5. I am confident that once you get your hands on it and spend a few days alone in your room, you will find that 5.9-inches isn’t all that big after a while. We should have dates, prices and all the final details from Google pretty soon.

So, are you saddened by the news, or are you even more excited than before?
