Last week, we heard a rumour that said that Samsung might be making a 12.2-inch tablet and thought that it would definitely be an interesting proposition, especially given the extra screen real-estate. There weren’t any specifications divulged from that rumour, but of course, king of leaks, evleaks has followed this up by tweeting a set of specs for this supposed Samsung tablet as well as the specs for a smaller, 10-inch version.
Apparently called the Samsung SM-P900, the 12.2-inch tablet will be running a Exynos 5 Octa, no doubt the Exynos 5420 that we saw earlier this week demolishing the Nexus 10 in a graphics benchmark. The P900 will also be capable of running at a resolution of 2560×1600, which partially confirms the idea that we’ve reached a suitably high resolution cap that will allow Samsung to focus on other aspects of the hardware.
In the tweet, evleaks also postulates that a smaller tablet at 10-inches will also be part of the festivities. Called the P600, this tablet will instead be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 also running a 2560×1600 display. Whether this suggests that the new Exynos 5420 is actually faster than the Snapdragon 800 remains to be discovered officially, but putting the Snapdragon 800 in the smaller tablet would definitely allude to this fact.
What do you think about these specs for either Samsung tablet? Sound like something you’d want to get? Let us know what you think in the comments.
