A pair of screenshots have surfaced, leaking details about a possible update to the Facebook for Android application. Word on the street is, the build is code-named “Katana” and will be version 1.8 — and from the look of it, the update should be a pretty nice one.
There will be updated navigation, menu and search functionality, as well as what looks to be a standalone “Nearby” app, as you can see from the icon in the photo above.
Of course, there’s been nothing said officially from the folks out in Palo Alto, so we’ll have to wait until the update hits the Market (or someone leaks more info) until we know the true story. I’d imagine we can’t be too far off now, so I’ll be keeping my eye out for an update. I’ll be sure to let you know the second it hits.
