Leaked pricing puts the Nexus 5 at $299 for 16GB Model

The Nexus 5 rumors won’t stop until the device is available and in the hands of thousands of fanatics everywhere. So, to keep you all drooling and dreaming, we thought another little bit of rumor oddities would do you well for this Tuesday afternoon. As it were, the usual anonymous tipster, clued in PhoneArena that the Nexus 5 will indeed come in two variants and the price point would start at $299.

Google Nexus 5
This tipster tells the tale of a 16GB model sporting a 2300 mAh battery, for the $299 price, and a 32GB model with a 3000 mAh battery with a price tag of $399. The prices seem legit, but the info doesn’t match up. Over the weekend there was a leaked service manual that gave a rundown of ‘a’ Nexus 5. I say ‘a’ because it is easily possible that there is another model out there in the works. The manual only mentioned a 32GB Nexus 5 with a 2300 mAh battery. It easily could have been a typo or marketing leak to see what the tech world thought about it all.

Google has created variants in storage size options for consumers in the past, so it would seem relatively credible that they would do so again. As much as I would like to a 3000 mAh battery option, I am not personally sold on the rumor. It would create another manufacturing cost and possible complication. Who knows though, this is why rumors are kind of fun. We will just have to wait and see when Google makes the announcement just what size battery is inside. We bet most of you don’t care and will buy one either way.
