The Samsung Moment Android 2.1 ROM has only just been leaked and already the guys over at sdx-developers have rooted it and released a guide for your rooting pleasure.
Brief Directions
Use 7zip to extract both .tar files from the Moment_2.1.7z file. Copy SPH-M900_MR2_DD03_REL.tar into the Sprint Update Tool binary folder. Default path to binary folder – C:\Program Files\Samsung Electronics\SWUpgrade\Models\Binary. Make sure no other files are in the Binary folder except the DD03.tar and run the Sprint Update Tool to flash.
