Lenovo Looks Set To Pick Up Ashton Kutcher As Its New Marquee Signing

lenovoLenovo looks like it’s been very busy behind the scenes the last few months, being involved in talks to acquire both HTC and BlackBerry, but has been very quiet on the smartphone and tablet front. Lenovo said earlier this year that it expected to start large-scale selling of its smartphones in America by the end of the year, and from the picture it posted on its Instagram (above), it looks like they’ve recruited the help of Steve Jobs… I mean, Ashton Kutcher, to make an announcement that’s expected to be made on October 29th.

Lenovo has had a pretty good record of recruiting big name stars to help them advertise their phones, like the time they got Kobe Bryant into a teaser for the P780 (which actually featured very little of the phone itself). It looks like they’ll most likely be using Kutcher’s services to launch some kind of smartphone, though we’ll have to wait for the actual event to see if that’s true.

What do you think of Lenovo’s choice in Ashton Kutcher? Somewhat ironic since he just played Steve Jobs in a movie, or does this not factor in? Let us know what you think in the comments.
