LG announces Optimus Vu II, headed to Korea in September

This is a bit of a lackluster announcement, but still is worthy of noting. LG released a press statement today via the LG newsroom that tosses out a few details about the Optimus Vu II. Focusing much of the release on two primary changes. First being the inclusion of an IR Blaster and second being a new Q Remote application. They go over the Q Remote feature quite a bit more offering up as being able to control you A/C, TV, set-top boxes and anything else that uses an IR receiver to operate.

The images of the app put a simple enough looking control function on your devices lockscreen, home screen and full application. Offering up tabs to change between what device you want to control. Of course almost all of it is in Korean so guessing as to which each is a bit of chore.

They fail to offer up any other specs about the device though. With the specs of the new Optimus G sounding pretty darn impressive, we would expect some sort of similar specs to hit the Vu II. Maybe that is wishful thinking since LG is shooting for the Optimus G to be their next flagship device. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens next month. Sure doesn’t look to good for LG or Verizon though, after all, they are just about to launch the first Optimus Vu here in the states and the second version is literally right around the corner.
