[Video] LG Demos worlds first Ultra HD stream from a mobile phone to a 4K TV

LG Wireless streaming to 4k TV
It is a never-ending barrage of goodies when events like CES and Mobile World Congress are in full swing. The latest and great of everything, minus the Samsung Galaxy S IV , are all present and accounted for. LG is showing off some new technology that is rather impressive. They are sending a 1080p resolution video to a 4k resolution LG TV without the need of a single hardwired cabled. That means it is wireless. That is a 3840 x 2160 resolution display. Of course the receiver or the TV is doing some up-scaling to the image to make it happen.

So far LG isn’t letting the full cat out of the bag, just the tail. They are saying the new technology uses “ubiquitous” WiFi connections to make it all possible. Mentioning that it uses less than half the power of current traditional streaming methods. Think Samsung AllShare Cast and Miracast that is found on the Nexus 4. Where as those require you to buy separate accessory items in most cases to function properly to your TV, this will work directly with the TV. Well, directly with an LG TV that has the support built-in. So again, Samsung AllShare Cast will do that with a Samsung TV that has the option.

Seems like more and more manufacturers are incorporating some great technology into their devices and are making a push to get your home set up with one complete brand. It is a good plan, but how many of you guys one brand of everything in your house? I have a HTC One S, a Galaxy S III, an LG TV, a Whirlpool washer and Dryer, a ViewSonic monitor and a logitech keyboard/mouse and webcam. Wouldn’t it be great if they all got along together?
