LG G Flex Does Actually Flex, And There’s A Video To Prove It

lg g flexThe talk about curved smartphones has somewhat died down in the wake of the Nexus 5’s release, however there’s new information regarding one of the two announced curved smartphones, the LG G Flex, and suggests that its namesake may actually be more appropriate than first thought.

Engadget has managed to get their hands on footage of the G Flex having significant force being exerted on it and the phone flexing to accommodate the force (see below). This apparently works whether the phone is face down or face up, and while it is quite cringe-worthy to watch, it’s definitely an impressive feat.

That said, a normal phone can also withstand these forces simply by being flat, so it’s not as if the G Flex has introduced something new and improved to the smartphone world yet, though it would be interesting to see if this makes the screen itself more durable than the average smartphone screen. We’re also still holding out for more announcements on what special software the G Flex will ship with and whether it will capitalize on its unique, curved shape.

Are you impressed by this feat of flexibility? Does this change your mind about the LG G Flex? Let us know what you think.
