The Optimus 2X has yet to make it’s splash in the market. As we know that doesn’t mean people don’t already have hands on it. Which is the case here, MoDaCo user gensplejs has claimed that his Optimus 2X has already been rooted using XDA’s SuperOneClick rooting application.
Along with the root being obtained, a system and boot loader dump was released on XDA. In regards to the bootloader gensplejs has said “The bootloader is apparently not encrypted but might be locked.”
Any news of a device getting rooted before release is good news. It means development can start immediately without a hitch, and users will see custom ROMs roll out much sooner.
This device it set to arrive at stores in Europe sometimes this month and an official date for the T-Mobile variant, the Optimus G2X, has not been announced at all.
