Could LG have a S-Pen stylus competitor called the G Pen? This application seems to say ‘Yes’

g penLG has made some pretty large smartphones in the past, but something it has lacked when compared to other phablet competitors is a decent stylus. Chief among these competitors is Samsung, who’s Galaxy Note range have basically held a monopoly over the stylus market with innovations every year in their software that make its offering just that much better. Well, it looks like LG might finally be stepping up to the plate after it was revealed the Korean manufacturer has filed to trademark the name “G Pen” which could only be a stylus with inspired naming.

G PenOf course, LG has dabbled in the stylus space before with the LG G3 Stylus, but it still seems to be a long way from challenging Samsung for the title of best stylus functionality. And with the LG G Pro line looking like it’s going to fade into the darkness, LG really only has its main G line of smartphones to work with unless it decides to spin off an entirely line of Stylus devices. Whatever the case, LG looks like its making a definite commitment to stylus technology, which we’ll have to wait and see whether it makes a difference.
