Microsoft calls Google Apps out on video, way more fun than a Lawsuit

There is only one thing about politics that I have ever liked, that was the commercials the candidates make to bash each others ethics,, past or skeletons. Some say it is sinister, evil and wrong. While others take it as truth and it can sway their vote in the elections. The same scenario happens all the time in advertising for products. T-Mobile drops ads against AT&T, Amazon throws down the Kindle line poking the big bears of Apple and Android for high-priced tablets. It is all in good fun and most people enjoy the little banter videos. What would marketing be with out poking the competition a little?

So what happens when Microsoft decides to drop a bombshell video on YouTube calling out Google Apps?? Well, the Android and Google fanboys hit it hard and tear it up with dislikes left and right. Not that Microsoft was attempting to earn any brownie points with it though. Then you get the all out comment war going  on the YouTube channel. It is rather entertaining if you ask me. Check out the video for yourself.

Pretty clever we think. It has points that are valid, but nothing that anyone won’t defend to their graves if they are part of the fanboy elite. I personally love Google docs and apps much more than Microsoft. Since Microsoft is so deeply integrated across the world it makes it a rough place to compete. Having a service that does similar things, offered for free and just plain works makes life a little easier. Nothing is more irritating than writing up a document in MS Office and having to save it in four formats just so the receiving party might be able to open it. We can’t help but wonder if Google Apps is creeping in and making Microsoft’s strangle hold a little less strong.
