Back at the tail end of the last year Dropbox and Microsoft rolled out an integration solution that would allow users to edit Microsoft Office documents directly in Dropbox. It also let users go the other direction and access Dropbox files within Microsoft Office apps. It was pretty a pretty big thing for many where Microsoft Office apps and files are needed. Unfortunately it was limited to phones. Which never made sense to me, but it is what it is.
Today the Dropbox blog has announced that the ability has been extended now to Android tablets as well. At least those tablets that are compatible and able to install the various Microsoft Office apps like Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Once installed on your tablet you will able to login with your Dropbox account and enjoy the cross integration.
While I am sure many of us use Google Drive more than anything, the additional choice isn’t a terrible thing.
