Minor updates headed to Sprint’s Samsung Epic 4G Touch and ZTE Fury

Sometimes an update to your device is grand, other times it is minor. In this case you are looking at a minor update for two devices on the ‘Now Network‘. Both the Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch and ZTE Fury devices will be getting a little prompt popping up over the next few days.  Neither of the updates are very large, but they fix a few issues that some of you might have been forced to deal with. Take a quick look at what each update will bring.

Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch

  • Ability to edit internal out of office message on Email
  • VPN access over 3G fix
  • MMS send/receive over 3G fix

Something to note as well, after the update you might not see the battery percentage at the top of the device any more. You can turn that back on under  Settings > Display. Nice save garwynn. In the important note section they mention it will be rolling out in stages, so we think it should be an OTA rather a Kies only update. No one has answered anyone regarding that yet. Anyone out there seen the prompt to download?

ZTE Fury

  • Speaker phone improvements
  • Battery consumption improvements
  • Updated Network Option settings menu

Again, not a huge changelog. Still, battery improvements are always a nice thing to see. This one will easily be an OTA and you should see a notification pop up when it finally gets to your device. Of course you can always try to ping it by going to Settings > System Update > Update Firmware. No promises it will work, but never hurts to try.
