When it comes to themes for our devices, they are a dime a dozen. Not only are they everywhere, but not every theme is to the liking of everyone. One thing that everyone can agree on though is the that they want to conserve battery however and whenever possible. The easiest way to do that is to use as much black as possible. Theme Annex knows this and so should you guys. What he did was take the
Ice Cream Sandwich theme that is ever so popular and cleared out all excess color. Putting as much black in place as possible and doing away with the greys and other minor color alterations that exist. Don’t worry, he kept the iced out blues in place. Take a quick look –
Looks pretty damn clean doesn’t it. This theme is only available for
MIUI users though. There may be other theme versions floating around though. As far as additions? There really aren’t any. He included the stock ICS wallpaper by default for everyone, but it is recommended that you use a black.png as your wallpaper. I have been doing that for almost 2 years now. The theme doesn’t include a lockscreen, it is just the notification bar, icons and other various aspects. As he says “And didn’t do a lockscreen since everyone will probably want something different.” Which is true in most cases. To get the ICS lockscreen look, you may want to check into Black Ice. It is another very well done ICS theme, but more generic.
You will be able to snag version 2 over at Annex’s RootzWiki thread. once you have the file, move it to the MIUI > Themes folder on your devices memory. You can then apply the whole theme from the theme app. If you are looking to change your current lockscreen to something new, or you downloaded Black Ice, open the theme app and select customize located at the bottom. Then you will select ‘lockscreen’ and find the one you like and apply it. To give you the most benefit, be sure to set your lockscreen wallpaper to the same black.png wallpaper too.
