While it may not be the most functional application out there, it will definitely keep your attention for awhile. Jenn K. Lee of the blog “Good and Evo” stumbled upon a free application which brings the floating 3D picture gallery application to Froyo. It’s a simple matter of downloading a small .zip file to your phone (or emailing it to yourself) and placing it on your SDcard where you double-click to install. Once installed you launch from your application directory.
The gallery app lets you share the photos depending upon which applications you have stored on your device; for example it gave me the options of: Peep, Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, Bluetooth, Touiteur, Springpad and Gmail. Also – under the “More” button you can “crop” and “rotate” the photo, and also set as a “contact icon”, or “wallpaper”. Of course there is the option to “delete”.
As far as the application itself – it is pretty slick, but be forewarned, it does take awhile to load the various thumbnails, depending on how many you have. But once the galleries were all loaded and then you clicked on each to expose the individual photos – yes, it was pretty cool and added a nice touch to Froyo. It was something I had been looking for when I had updated to Froyo to begin with.

I would definitely check out the program, it has already replaced my pictures app. You can download it here:Â Gallery3DFroyo
