The ad drops yesterday, the sign up page drops this morning, and now we have received more information about the customizations users will have with the Moto X Phone. In the ad, it clearly states, “designed by you,” which had us thinking that maybe that ridiculous rumor about being able to change the shell of the phone to what ever colors we want. That is not far from the truth.
Today, ABC News uncovered some details on just what we will be able to customize. Users will in fact be able to choose the color of the phone, as well as have something engraved on it, something similar to what Apple has done in the past. Users can also send in a picture to have placed onto the device as its default wallpaper, before it is sent out. Not like that was something hard to do in the first place, but there is a sense of the phone really being yours when it comes shipped to you with your own wallpaper.
It has been mentioned that the Moto X Phone will be running Android 4.2.2, and that since it is made in the US, customers will receive the phone just days after they place the order. All US carriers will be carrying the phone, and Motorola let Verizon know that they WILL NOT place their DROID name on it, like they have done on all their other Moto devices. It will be Moto X everywhere, and just as an added bonus of information, the voice controls will be much better than what we have now. The phone can apparently determine whether you are driving or not. This means it will automatically turn on speaker phone while you are driving, so if you have it placed on a dock or what not, you will remain hands-free.
So let us know your thoughts about the Moto X Phone. Seems to be getting better and better with each passing day.
