More Nexus rumors point to multiple devices from different OEM’s, LG and Sony in the mix Now

And so it begins. Some of you may remember the story we ran a while back that Google might be ramping up to have more manufacturers releasing Nexus branded devices this year. Traditionally they would let them all fight for the honor of producing the next Nexus and be the flagship device of Google. Samsung has won that challenge for the last two years in a row. To me that is fine, Samsung makes great products. To others, they feel it is a monopoly. That other OEM’s aren’t getting a fair shake of the stick so to speak. Some people just down right hate Samsung and wan t something else, pure Google experience or not. While it is still unclear if this year we will see more than one new Nexus device or multiple Nexus devices, the flood gates are opening with rumors and speculation.

According to AndroidNoodle, Japanese carrier DOCOMO winter 2012 line up will carrier three different Nexus devices. The Samsung Galaxy Nexus 2, the Sony Xperia Nexus and LG Optimus Nexus. That is three big name OEM’s with three different Nexus devices. If this pans out to be true, then we could see multiple manufacture’s getting a Nexus device into the Play Store for the world to purchase. Now we just need to find some rumors for Motorola and HTC building ones too and then all the major players will be covered. I’m thinking to stay in tradition, the Motorola RAZR MAXX Nexus and HTC One X Nexus. Silly, I know, but possible.

Are we going to see a new approach and a flood of Nexus devices rollout, or are we seeing potential devices that are fighting for top spot from Google this year? Personally, I’d like to see 4 or 5 differently designed Nexus devices with different specs all running stock Android. It would give consumers more choices for the OEM of their choice and give Google a leg up.
