Motorola Atrix 4G Gingerbread Now Available – Side Loading Enabled!

It would appear that we missed the Atrix 4G Gingerbread update on Friday. With so many other leaks and things coming out, it is bound to happen. It would seem that many of these carriers and OEM’s have started opting out of the original OTA distribution methods. Thisismynext has a few reports of the update being received via OTA, but most are opting for the manual install method.

The latest and greatest update for you Atrix 4G will put you on a solid build of Gingerbread 2.3.4, with many enhancements.   UI refinements that should give you a much more pleasant experience. The update also touts faster webtop browsing, an improved Gallery and Music apps, and various other tweaks have been made to make you smile.

The most important feature that has been enabled is the much needed side loading ability. If that term doesn’t mean a lot to you then maybe this will. You can finally use the Amazon AppStore and get your hands on those FREE apps of the day! This is really great news for Atrix owners and is a step in the right direction for AT&T. Hopefully we will start to see more updates rolling out to other devices that will at least open this feature up.

If you have an Atrix and want to get the latest update installed manually, you can head over to  Motorola.com and pick the update up. Be sure to let us know how it goes and if the improvements were really improvements.
