After last months fallout regarding the 4G capabilities of AT&T’s network, and the response that ensued later, it seems there may be a light at the end of the tunnel for Atrix 4G owners. A new update seems to be rolling out behind the scenes and the guys at Droid Matters have gotten a few screen shots showing the results.
This new update has not been officially announced however as you can see it changes your version number to 4.1.83 from 4.1.7.5. XDA user Nate2569 figured out after recieve an update notification that the upload speeds changed considerably.
“I just got a software update to 1.7.5??? I haven’t seen it mentioned on forum…. Anyone else see this?â€
“Ok. I updated to 1.8.3 and did another speed test. 2.9Mbps down and 1.6Mbps up.â€
It seems as if this update is rather selective as noone else has reported seeing anything pop up when searching for updates. Have you received an update notification?
