I’m not sure how many times we’ve heard about the Motorola Droid X getting it’s well overdue Gingerbread update. Almost a month ago we posted news indicating that it was coming soon.  The Gingerbread leaks have been around long before that if you didn’t mind rooting your phone. Now it’s official and you don’t have to wait much longer at all according to Android Central. It seems that some lucky people are starting to receive what appears to be the test /soak release going out to see how it handles.  A few days ago, Motorola where seeking out early testers from it’s members of Motorola’s Owner User Group wanting to try out the Gingerbread update before it went to general release.  These are the people receiving the update right now.
Assuming the test roll out is successful, you could see it start to roll out to the general public this week sometime.
If you want to manually check for the update on your Motorola Droid X:
- Press your Home button to get to your Android home screen.
- Press your Menu button.
- Select Settings.
- Select About.
- Select System Updates.
see what happens.
Be sure to let us know if you start receiving anything.
