The Moto G pulls off Android 4.3, with guaranteed updates to Android 4.4. A quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor at 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 4.5-inch 1280 x 720 display, a 2070 mAh battery that is said to get 24 hours life with mixed usage and comes in an 8GB or 16GB model. The real kicker, and what Motorola is doing perfectly here, is the 8GB model is $179 and the 16Gb model is $199. Don’t forget, this is OFF CONTRACT pricing for an unlocked Moto G. You can enjoy a sweeter pot knowing you also get 50 GB of Google Drive storage for free for 2 years.
A friendly reminder, the current US model that can be purchased is for GSM carriers only. Those would be AT&T or T-Mobile as far as the big ones. The CDMA variants, like one for Verizon, is still coming and confirmed to be sold by big red.
The Moto G is a pretty attractive offering some one looking to get their hands dirty on some Android without a contract. Heck, at that price I wouldn’t even feel guilty or scared to get one for my 13 year old.
Anyone out there considering the Moto G as their next unlocked device? Possibly a heck of a stocking stuffer for a friend or family member?
