Motorola’s Facebook game a total misunderstanding, no new phone announcement at All

Like everyone else out there, we jumped into the guessing game with Motorola on their Facebook game that they started yesterday. Offering hints through August 10th for people to guess the device and stating “big reveal” made us all hopeful that they would be announcing the Motorola RAZR HD finally. That bubble was burst later that evening and even further cleaned up with today’s new clue.

Guess the Smartphone: I’m really fast! I browse the Web, multitask and power through emails with my 1.5 GHz dual-core processor. And just a note, I’m in market in the U.S. from Motorola already. Which smartphone am I?

That clears thing up a bit. But the approach taken yesterday sure sounded different to many people. So now we are supposed to guess a smartphone that Motorola already has on the market here in the U.S. that has a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor and is ‘fast’. Sounds like the Atrix HD to us. With MobileSyrup pointing to a screenshot that Bell Canada should be getting the Atrix HD LTE on August 14th, things are starting to line up.

So everyone, including myself, who was hopeful the RAZR HD would finally get out of the leaked side of the smartphone world will just have to keep waiting. Sorry.
