MyTouch 4G Gingerbread Leak Hits XDA

This was a pleasant thing to find inside my in box this morning. Looks like a new Gingerbread leak for the T-Mobile MyTouch 4G has surfaced.

I spent a good deal of time reading through all the posts from users who are already attempting to use the new leaked ROM. So far, as to be expected, you will lose root. The UI is the same Sense 2.1 and it is full of bloatware. I am sure they have added a few more bug fixes from the previous leak back in May, but nothing else stands out in the forums beyond a new radio. Which is also getting mixed reviews. Some have reported better signal but lower data and some are reporting the opposite.

As far as I can tell this is the second leaked version to surface. Many speculations were aiming the update to hit by June of this year, but that still hasn’t happened as you can tell. The only real good news to come out of this is the fact that stock users should see a Gingerbread update to their devices relatively soon.

If you are curious to read up on the forums you can go to the to XDA thread HERE for the ROM information and to XDA HERE for the seperate radio information.
